Initial Results – Data Center Social Graph

Early results are in from the Data Center Social Graph Survey.  Here is a sneak peak of some interesting findings:

LinkedIn is consistently sited as a top resource, particularly the Data Center Professionals Group.  Here are some facts about the group:

  • Started June 13, 2008
  • 30,547 members
  • The largest member location is the Greater New York City Area
  • 21 jobs were posted last week
  • 98 new members joined last week

Joe Kava from Google and Jay Park from Facebook were mentioned as industry thought leaders.  Did you know that they are both Cal Poly SLO alumni?

And yet, 78% of respondents did not find Facebook a valuable source in researching new data center technologies.

According to one respondent, “A golf outing is also a great way to stay current on developing technologies”.  If anyone wants to take me golfing, just name a time and place!
